Alberto Zamora

Co-founder & CEO of osapiens

Alberto Zamora is the co-founder and CEO of osapiens. He started his career as a developer and consultant at SAP SI and SAP AG. In 2006, Alberto co-founded Movilitas Consulting AG, focusing on SAP Track & Trace solutions for the pharmaceutical industry. In 2013, he co-founded Movilizer GmbH, which later expanded to the USA and was acquired by Honeywell in 2016. In 2018, Alberto founded osapiens together with Stefan Wawrzinek and Matthias Jungblut.

For those that don’t know, can you elaborate on what does osapiens do and how it helps companies? And what do you believe sets you apart from others?

At osapiens, we enable companies to drive sustainable growth by connecting compliance, transparency, and efficiency. Our osapiens HUB is an AI-powered software platform which enables organizations to automate regulatory compliance, improve operational processes, and build transparency across their entire value chain.

What sets us apart comes down to three key aspects. First, our holistic approach: while many ESG software providers focus on individual solutions, we offer an integrated environment that covers all relevant requirements – efficient, automated, and built on a unified data foundation. Second, we go beyond compliance to deliver real operational value. Companies use our platform strategically to track sustainability goals, optimize processes, and run real-time analyses across their entire value chain. Third, we’re able to translate new regulatory requirements into ready-to-use solutions very quickly, and that speed gives our customers a real edge.

osapiens has reported over 100% year-on-year growth for 3 years, added 400 new customers in just six months, and recently announced a €35 million investment in the UK. What do you think drove this kind of momentum?

Our growth is driven by three key factors. The first is our technology. Our self-developed hyperscaler infrastructure supports large-scale, real-time applications such as traceability and risk monitoring with full data sovereignty. This level of speed, scalability, and control allows us to deliver measurable impact to our customers and sustain our rapid global expansion.

The second factor is our holistic approach: With our unified, modular platform, we address companies of all sizes and industries to manage their sustainability requirements efficiently while adapting quickly to evolving regulations. By embedding transparency into operations, we turn sustainability from a compliance obligation into a strategic advantage – helping our customers lead confidently into the future.

Third, our long-term partnerships and diverse teams foster trust, collaboration, and the broad expertise needed that drives innovation and strategic growth. Together, these pillars form the foundation of our momentum and enable us to create lasting, global impact on sustainability. We currently have over 2,200 customers who drive sustainable growth with our platform.

You often say that “Sustainability is an opportunity, not just an obligation.” How do you convince both companies and investors that sustainability-driven transformation is still a business growth engine?

We are convinced that sustainability and transparency are inseparable. Companies can only act responsibly and drive meaningful change when they truly understand what’s happening across their entire value chain. This transparency, which might be initially driven by regulations, unlocks opportunities to streamline operations, detect risks early, and make smarter, data-driven decisions that improve both performance and resilience.

In our view, sustainable growth has two core aspects: transparency to minimize risk and efficiency to maximize competitiveness. Our software platform systematically maps all direct and indirect suppliers, automatically assesses risks, and digitalizes key processes such as incident management and supplier communication. Standardized templates and automated workflows reduce manual effort, enhance operational efficiency, and enable better-informed decision-making.

In this way, sustainability goes beyond compliance: it becomes a catalyst for operational excellence, strategic advantage, and measurable business growth – benefits that significantly contribute to long-term value creation.

You organize your event Sustainable osapiens Summit (SoS) annually. What’s the event about and how do such events help companies and professionals?

Our Sustainable osapiens Summit (SoS) is Europe’s leading corporate sustainability event. It brings together more than 2,000 leaders and experts from business, politics, and the public sector to exchange insights on sustainability regulations, challenges, and opportunities. Through more than 20 thematic tracks, inspiring keynotes, and hands-on workshops, participants gain practical best practices and forward-looking perspectives to enhance transparency, streamline compliance, and drive sustainable growth across industries. We warmly invite all interested professionals to apply for a free ticket to join the upcoming SoS.26 on June 9th and 10th in Mannheim (Germany) and be part of this community.

Events like these, which connect people across industries and regions, are crucial for knowledge sharing, peer networking, and long-term thinking. Attendees can learn from real-world experiences and explore innovative approaches to sustainability trends and challenges.

What’s next for osapiens and what’s your long-term vision for the company?

We believe that every company will require a dedicated platform for sustainable growth in the future, just as indispensable today as ERP or CRM systems, to navigate regulatory complexity, geopolitical challenges, sustainability goals, and operational performance. Our vision is for the osapiens HUB to serve as a global “Control Tower” for sustainability data, empowering organizations worldwide to lead their sustainability transformation with clarity, confidence, and measurable impact.

To achieve that, we will continue to expand our platform: the osapiens HUB already brings together 26 solutions today, and we’re constantly increasing its capabilities to help companies manage growth and sustainability in an increasingly complex world. At the same time, we are expanding our international presence. Beyond our established presence in DACH, Benelux, Spain, France, Italy, the UK and Ireland region, we are strengthening our activities in the Nordics and the U.S. market in particular.

You’ve helped build and scale multiple successful ventures. What advice would you give to sustainability entrepreneurs who want to make a genuine impact and build successful companies?

For sustainability entrepreneurs, my clear advice is to start with impact. Focus on solving a real, urgent problem, one where your solution can truly move the needle. A clear mission from day one guides your decisions, attracts the right talent, and builds credibility with partners and investors. Technology plays a crucial role in this transformation. It should not just perform but be strategically designed from the outset and built to endure over the long term.

Finally, real impact takes time. Be patient, stay focused, and remain adaptable when setbacks occur. Measure success not only in financial returns but in the changes you create and the people you inspire. Entrepreneurs who combine vision, discipline, and resilience will not only build successful companies; they will help shape a more sustainable and thriving economy.
